Corrandulla National School

corrandulla-nsCo- education came to Corrandulla in 1994 when St. Brendan’s Boys National School and St. Briga’s Girls National school amalgamated. In 1995, we moved to the new school that was built on a beautiful rural site surrounded by an expansive woodland area of trees and shrubs behind the local Community Centre. A modern new building consisting of eight classrooms, a learning support room, a principal’s office, a staffroom, and a general purpose room was built.

In 2004, three more classrooms and two learning support rooms were built onto the school to accommodate the increase in the number of children attending.

Work began yet again in 2009 on extending the school with three more classrooms, in order to accommodate a growing staff and pupil population.

There are now approximately 270 children in our school. There are 10 mainstream classroom teachers, three full – time learning support teachers, one part-time learning support teacher, four special needs assistants, an administrative principal and a school secretary. A dancing and music teacher visit throughout the week to support the teachers in delivering the p.e and music curriculum.
